Yep. You are looking at a classic 3-cup brewer from Chemex, with a wooden collar and (nice) leather strap. A coffee maker that never disappoints you.
Simple function and visual elegance combine to brew full-bodied and flavorful coffee. In combination with the coarse Chemex paper filters, you will experience a new type of coffee taste that is softer and fruitier.
Chemex Classic Series coffee makers are, just like you, both elegant and versatile.

YOUR CHEMEX CHECKLIST
To brew, you need your Chemex, accompanying paper filter for 3 cups (for best results), a digital scale and a timer.
- Weigh out 25-28g of coffee
- Find your grind preference, medium to coarse
- Pour in 390g of hot water, temperature around 94-96°
- Brewing time is only 4 minutes
THIS IS HOW IT HAPPENS
(Of course feel free to change the recipe to match your perfect coffee)
- Rinse the filter with hot water and heat the serving jug at the same time. Remove the water.
- Weigh the coffee and grind it medium to coarse.
- Place your Chemex on a scale, add coffee, level the surface and zero the scale.
- Fill the pitcher with hot water.
- Start the timer and pour 100g of water for 15 seconds. begin flowering. Start in the center and work your way outwards in a circular motion.
- At 1 minute, pour in 200g of water for 15 seconds.
- At 2 minutes, pour in 300g of water for 15 seconds.
- At 3 minutes, pour in 390g of water for 15 seconds.
- Brewing should take approx. 4 minutes. Remove the filter - serve!
- When you place the paper filter in your Chemex, the tri-ply side should face the spout. After you rinse the filter, pour the water out on the opposite side of the spout. Double-check that the filter sits flush against the edges, without air pockets.
- Check for dark spots on the surface as you pour. Aim for these spots to make sure all the coffee is properly soaked. When this is achieved, pour further into the center to continue stirring the mass.
- Adjust the grind to something coarser if your coffee is too strong and/or bitter. Adjust instead to more finely ground if the coffee is too weak and/or acidic. Experiment - go wild!
